Traffic Analyzer options

The Traffic Analyzer feature is interesting and well done but I'm hesitant to allow Trend Micro access to all my network traffic data. Privacy settings allow you to opt out but doing so just turns off the feature. So I'm curious if anyone has other suggestions for similar traffic analyzers? I've seen vnStat mentioned but only that it's a real chore to install. Alternatively, perhaps there's a way to block Trend Micro from getting the data. Thanks for any input.

I can't see how anything else would work differently. Unless you build your own IDS?
