Why would this matter to Information or Network Security Think about it.. I admire Cloudflare a lot for what they do. I use Cloudflare's DNS services - Quad9 + DNSSEC + DoT which have been discussed in many other threads on this board. One thread in this section most recently.

Below is just one of the reasons why I like Cloudflare and will continue using them and their services.

This win turns the tables against "patent trolls" in a big, unique, OOB way.

"And boy, were we right! We established a prior art bounty to pay cash rewards for prior art submissions that read on the patent Blackbird asserted against Cloudflare, as well as any of Blackbird’s other patents."

Their approach reminds me of the DARPA "Red Balloon" Challenge won by a MIT team in record time. (So I must give them a bit of credit!) The new here is applying this approach as a "hive" defense against a patent troll - win/win. Well now that's clever, very clever. Just proves another point, we can get a lot further buy cooperating vs the alternatives. ;0
