Now in Early Access, the Ubiquiti UNMS Router Pro. MSRP $299. Basically the same guts (ARM Cortex A57 quad-core at 1.7Ghz) and routing performance as the UDM-Pro, minus the HDD and Protect, but the 8-port switch will do 2.5Gb/s aggregate instead of just 1Gb/s. The distro appears to be EdgeOS, retaining local web and SSH access, plus UNMS connectivity and a local UNMS-inspired UI:

Will be interesting to see if this is Ubiquiti's ultimate plan for the evolution of EdgeMAX.

Need to do a bit more due-diligence cox.

USW Pro Gen 2 and US-XG switches do support basic Layer 3, with more feature set in development:

Yes, I know about what UniFi has posted. Have you tried to run it? I don't think it works other than a router doing it. I think they are going to have a hard time matching Cisco efficiently.

Link above to UniFi
" Once the L3 network is created, the network "Inter-VLAN routing" will be created automatically and appear in the Networks list under Settings > Networks, to define how the L3 switch forwards packets to the USG or UDM in your network. The gateway IP of this network will be the default gateway for all L3 networks. "

This sounds wrong to me. It is more like a router doing layer 3. The term they are not using is default route which is layer 3. Default gateway is layer 2.

PS
We had a big discussion on UniFi and L3 switching a couple of weeks ago on DSLReports.
