Unable to access Asus Router with merlin firmware

Hi all,

I don't understand why I can't connect to my Router AC-66U with SSH. I use SSH for many other devices in my network with putty, but it doesn't work for the router. I can ping the router and access it via the webportal.
What did I miss?

'Allow SSH Port Forwarding' does not need to be set from LAN.

And can you ping the ip from the SSH machine?

Have you setup a port forward TCP 22 to another computer on the network on the router?
