Hi,
I live in a 170sqm (~1800sqft) apartment with thick walls and an unusual L-shape that I have covered with 3 Eero Gen1 nodes. Two of the nodes have an ethernet backhaul.
It works well, but the fact that Gen1 is now EoL and not updated anymore, that Eero is now an Amazon company and the extremely limited configuration possibilities are pushing me towards an upgrade.
What would you recommend for these two scenarios:
-Off the shelf solution, not necessarily a mesh system.
-I am tempted to set up an Opnsense router and mesh APs for wireless. Would that be a good idea? What APs would you recommend?
Right now I have a gigabit connection from my ISP regarding the needs for throughput.
Thanks!
