USB 3 not working on 384.8_2 on AC5300

When I enable USB 3 support on Administration-->System-->USB mode to USB 3, the rear port no longer tries to mount. The light on my USB stick lights up, so it still gets power, but the router does not even attempt to mount it, by looking at the log. If I drop this back down to USB 2, works fine. This is a USB 3 drive I have used for years on this router, currently running Diversity, and attempted another USB 3, and a USB3.1, all same results. Of course reboots between attempts, and did a backup/factor reset/restore cycle also.

How can I use USB 3 on this router again? Any thoughts to debug this? Or is my router forever stuck at USB 2?

Did you remember to hit "Apply" on the bottom of that page after switching from USB2 to USB3 ? ;)

Greggy101,
Who uses Apply? I just hit enter.....

Anyway, I ran through the process again gathering screeners.
With USB 2 set in GUI:

When I toggle the switch to USB 3, I get this:

No attempt is made to even mount the device with USB 3 enabled.
This is currently a 3.1 Sandisk Ultra FIT drive, but I have tested with two others that are 3.0, same result.

Hope this helps....

I am just trying to tell you that on Chrome, IE, Firefox - hitting enter after the switching from drop-down menu USB2 to USB3 will not take/save the settings. How do I know? I remember doing the same mistake on my 5300 before I realized that you actually have to hit "Apply" on the bottom of the page (it took me 2 or 3 times to to "apply" before USB3 got mounted) It is quite possible that you have some other hardware related problems -but before you return this router - please do yourself a favor and hit "Apply" :)

Ok, I spent hours search on USB3 issues before posting, I never saw your post, so I created a new one. Glad to see I'm not the only one having the issue. Hope Merlin can resolve it.

As an update, Merlin's Alpha build 284.9_alpha 1 seems to have resolved this. There is a new option "Added USB3.0/2.0 mode switch setting in Administration --> System --> USB Settings." Enabling it on this new menu option resolved it, my USB is working as a v3 device again.
