New Around Here
Hello.
For a few weeks i have a problem with my wireless router (RT-AC87U with Merlin Firmware 380.69_2).
I had entware installed on an 120 GB SSD, and after a few days i had an issue like one from the log below. The SSD became read only. Next day i installed entware on a 320 GB HDD connected on USB 3.0.. Worked for a few days, and again, same problem. Now, entware was installed on a 32 GB USB flash drive, connected on USB 2.0. It worked great for a few days, until today when i saw again the same problem.

Has anyone any ideea why this error occurs and how can I fix it?

Remove usb device and scan on a computer if the computer cannot mount with read/write then the drive is screwed probably.

How are formatting/partitioning the drives? USB sticks often contain hidden/non-standard partitions that will work under windows but cause problems under linux. For me, windows utilities that claim to support formatting to ext are also always suspect.

I always use a GPARTED boot USB and delete all existing partitions, then set things up the way I want.

Tnx for the sugestion, skeal. I did that, usb flash is ok, get`s mounted in windows, but needs formated FAT32/NTFS. Scanned, has no errors.

USB flash drive has one partition formated ext2. There are no other partition or unalocated space on it. I have tried ext3 also, but i encountered same problem.
Beside that, as you can see in that log, the USB flash worked without issues for 5-6 days. It has to be something else that causes this problem.

You should follow the above advice from @john9527

Don't use a windows program or windows itself to format your drive for EXT file system. You should have a linux/virtual machine to do some of the tasks on this forum IMHO. They are easy to setup. Or run a version of Ubuntu from a usb drive or dvd that works real nice too.
