USB Drive not discoverable with VPN active

By the way FTPS has problems. It can connect and get the password correct but has issues connecting to the server. FTP TLS is ok with the VPN.
I can SSH from the Windows Sub for Linux with the VPN up.

Thanks for the review Colin, this morning while the wife was busy I figured I could trash the router and get it running again before she sat down to the news.
I ssh'd in and found what I thought was the smb.conf file in the etc directory. I added the lines suggested by the OpenVPN gang;
hosts allow = 192.168.50.0/24 10.8.0.0/24 127.0.0.1
interfaces = 192.168.50.0/24 10.8.0.0/24
I typed it out to make sure I didn't mangle it and all was fine. I stopped and started samba, no joy. I retyped the smb.conf file and sure enough the updates were gone.
With that, unless there is another hack via the OprnVPN advanced custom configuration, this router is a gonner.
Even if Asus came to me and said "It will be fixed in the next release" I would unload it. ;)

Thanks everyone for the support! I learned a bit and actually used my linux subsystem for something besides messing around with C once in a while.
