USB storage max capacity on RT-AC68U

New Around Here
May I know what is the maximum capacity that I can use for USB storage on ASUS RT-AC68U? Is 3 or 4TB supported?

It depends. Some large disks will work, others won't. Some USB enclosures are flat out incompatible with Linux, and require a very recent Linux kernel to work around their issues (by recent I mean a kernel from the past 12 months). I backported that fix to my custom FW but Asus has not.

Unfortunately, there is no sure way to know if a disk will work until you try it.

I have a 2TB WD mybook external HDD, it was usb 2.0 so I purchased a usb 3.0 enclosure, but when I plug it in, the ac68u does not see the drive, mind you it didn't see with the original enclosure either. What are my options merlin?

Make sure that the option to reduce USB 3.0 interference under Wireless -> Professional is set to "Disabled". A lot of USB enclosures don't work properly with that option enabled.

What 3TB hard drive do you use? I just bought the RT-AC68U and want to make sure I buy a drive that is supported (I'd like to buy one bigger than 2TB).

Thanks

I know its random what works and doesn't but my 2cents is. (lol) I have been using a 3tb WD my book usb 3 drive and it seems to work pretty good. i just have all my old music and pics on it so I can access them when I want and keep all my new music local.
