Use VPN server for dns queries only

Hi, I use OpenVpn server on my 86U along with pihole. But when using my phone my internet speed is slow as it turns out I'm using my home connection whereas I would like to use my LTE connection which is much faster than my fiber upload speeds. I commented push "redirect-gateway def1 bypass-dhcp"
Yet I'm still using my home connection. Is there something else I'm missing ?

Post a screen shot of your VPN server Advanced Settings.

Make sure "Direct clients to redirect Internet traffic" is set to No. Remove any custom settings.

If I remove push fns, I wouldn't be able to use pihole dns this no ad blocking

OK your menu layout is slightly different to mine. Go to the General settings and make sure "Client will use VPN to access" is set to "Local network only".

Great that worked any idea if it's possible to route traffic to certain app or site through home Network? I use a smartdns to bypass Geo restrictions by netflix etc and my provider is activating it depending on the IP sent from my home Network
