I saw that for writes the speeds were in the expected range. However for reads I'm very confused.
The comparison graph shows the DAS reading data at about 1,100,000 Kilobytes per second, so we're talking about 1.1 GBps? I know of no hard drive capable of that, but perhaps a massive RAID 0 array could do it. Still I doubt the SATA interface can handle that. But I can't see how a Firewire 400 drive could do those speeds at all.
