New Around Here
Hi all,

I'm in a bit of a pickle which I will do my best to describe here, but please bare with me. I am currently paying my internet provider 10 bucks a month for a modem & router combined, (One device). I want to purchase a similar product to send theirs back and have full control of my network. Simple so far. However! I have recently gotten into the IoT field and like everyone else I want all my IoT devices on a separate network (virtually).

So! My question is, If I have a switch after a router/Modem can it still keep traffic segregated from devices after the switch?

-- Cable Modem / Router (Primary Wifi)
---- Switch (VLAN Support)
-------- Secondary Router (IoT Devices)

Just an idea of what i'm looking at:
Cable Modem/Router - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZUPOF7Y/?tag=snbforums-20
Switch - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M1C0186/?tag=snbforums-20

and I have this router already:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZ62WP5/?tag=snbforums-20

I do want all the main devices such as tvs, xbox and what not to connect directly to the modem/router primarily due to the location of the secondary router.
