VM Host + VPN, VM Guest + VPN.

New Around Here
Hello,
I am running Fedora 23 inside of Windows 7 with VMware workstation.

VMWARE is bridging the network for the guest, giving the guest its own IP address.

The Windows 7 Host is using OpenVPN to connect to my home VPN server. This works very well and gives both the host and guest access to my home network. Keep in mind the guest OS is not running ANY VPN server for this to work.

Now, I install torguard onto my Fedora Guest and connect to a vpn server in dallas. When I run 'traceroute -I www.google.com' I get a completely different output than when I do with the torguard turned off. The host OS is connected to my home VPN for both test.

I figured the Fedora guest would first go through the vpn server setup at my home and then to the dallas vpn server. Instead it seems to be avoiding my home VPN server completely.

Now, I imagine it is doing what I want it to do, except its not shown in the output because the traceroute does not start until AFTER passing through the first VPN server.

Am I correct in my thinking? A VPN within a VPN?
