New Around Here
Apologies if this has been covered elswhere, if so please provide link, thanks.

I'm new to vpn and am looking for the best way to implement it. Right now I favor installing it on my router. I would like to use Asus RT-AC68U with asuswrt-merlin FW. My limited research says that the dual core 800MHz will be enough to handle the performance hit without giving up too much. I understand that merlin takes advantage of dual core in its implementation. My ISP connection is cable 70 down and 6 up. The vpn service provider I'm looking at is Airvpn.

Appreciate any comments on this setup. I'm moderately adept technically. Running Windows 10, ran my own ethernet cabling throughout the house, don't use wireless much, just the occasional guest user in the house.

L&LD,
Thanks. Did find yorgi's tutorial. Answered most of my questions. The only thing not clear was if the dual core odd-even splitting of client ips worked for both the native and merlin versions of asuswrt.

I don't think Asus implemented that, since I added it after the initial OpenVPN design got merged upstream.
