I am running 384.7_2 on a AC87U
I have a SlimServer (Logitech Media Server) and use port forwarding on two ports to access this when I am way from my home network.
Because my ISP does not offer static IPs, I at use DDNS (xxx.asuscomm.com) and direct the client at the DDNS. This all works.
I now wish to add a VPN to the machine that runs the Slimserver. This machine also hosts my Plex server. I have added the VPN (NordVPN, OpenVPN) as client1 on the router.
Plex (which also has port forwarding) continues to be accessible, but the SlimServer connection (via the DDNS address) fails.
NordVPN does not offer port forwarding (if this is relevant)
Is there a way to continue to access the SlimServer remotely without disabling the VPN; e.g. by changing the rules on the router and/or device to bypass the VPN for this service?
Would a different DDNS provider make a difference?
