Hello colleagues, I want to ask a question to get out of doubts and I'm observing a thing that I do not know if it is correct, I explain:
I created a vpn with the data of the router xxx.asuscomm.com open vpn and I see that when doing a test of the contracted speed is 300mg I lower more than half, is it normal?
I wait for your answers
regards..

Yes it is normal. SOHO routers don't have the processing power to handle high speed connections and VPN.

The second cause for a slow down is very few VPN providers and give you speeds in excess of 150 Mbps so even with a custom built high powered VPN processing router/ VPN appliance you probably won't get the speed that you ISP provides.

Only the newest routers have ARM CPUs with hardware acceleration (AES instruction set) for faster VPN processing - read here!
