WAN with bridged modem

That is not what the example shows?

Hi, walking around seveal problems (it's make me crazy) I found this at Wiki:

https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/Access-modem-Web-UI-on-WAN-port-(no-script)

Anyboby knows if this setup is with the modem in bridged mode?

I suppose that the answer is not but... I'm not sure how can I set up the gateway of my LAN and my router to the WAN.

Thanks

It depends on the bridge-mode, kinda, but yes, I think that guide is for bridged modems. (Otherwise, it would be double-NAT, which is not something to encourage.)

A device can bridge PPPoE while still allowing IP access to itself. My Cisco 877 can act as a PPPoE bridge while still allowing access to itself by using the IRB features (Integrated Routing and Bridging).

My Speedstream 4300's bridge-mode button does not allow IP access, unless you configure bridging yourself.

My Sagemcom 1704n allows IP access with it's "quick-bridge" mode.

I have only used my pfSense router with this trick, I have no experience with iptables. I used this guide: https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Accessing_modem_from_inside_firewall

Thanks, I'll keep in blank for default configuration.

And... regarding on. What's is exactly this?:

"Advertise router's IP in addition to user-specified DNS" - Will force the DNS ip of the router to the clients?

"Forward local domain queries to upstream DNS" - Will forward LAN DNS queries to the ISP DNS? I understood that this is the default way if a leave the gateway IP in blank.

"Enable DNSSEC support" - It's free? Will be name resolving slower? I never used before.

Thanks a lot!! ;)
