WEP on Merlin firmware

Is there a way to enable WEP encryption in Merlin firmware?
The GUI interface doesn't seem to allow WEP.
I have a mixture of AP and clients all runing WEP so I need to integrate my RT-N16 with them. If there's no such option I'll probably flash Tomato on it.

WEP is only possible while in legacy mode. That means when you configure your router to only accept 802.11g connections, the option to enable WEP will become available.

For what it's worth, you should also consider upgrading from WEP to at least WPA if all of your devices support it, better yet WPA2, as WEP should really be considered deprecated. Although while using WEP your connection is encrypted, it's considered so easy to crack it's hardly worth the effort to implement.

Merlin, thanks for the legacy mode clarification.

I'm not relying on WEP for security I use another layer of encryption so WEP is good enough for me.

WEP isn't just about encryption, it's also about access control. With WEP, any of your neighbour can quite easily connect to your router, and get access to your network.
