The other day I noticed that I could not do a cd /tmp/mnt with autocomplete on /tmp/m, and just for curiosity I looked for the file preventing it. I found two mastiff file, pid and log. Interesting, that the pid one had three process IDs in it. Looking through boot logs I found start of mastiff after AEE services, which makes me think they are somehow related or dependent.

So, what are these two services?
Does it make sense to have more than one mastiff running ?

Search Merlin's posts for mastiff, the question has been asked before.

From memory it is a closed source component beyond his control.
