Use Dual Band Smart Connect,
SSID with upper case and lower case letters and numbers. Passphrase 8 characters letters and numbers
Set 2.4 GHZ to fixed channel 1, 6 or 11. 5 GHZ to channel 36 or 149 at 80 MHZ
Disable WPS
Do not change any other default WIFI settings
Disable UPNP
Set WAN DNS to filtered service such as Quad9 or Cloudflare filtered (1.1.1.2 + 1.0.0.2)
That's what works best for me in my single router household. Differs from OzarkEdge recommendations (and his are not necessarily wrong) just different philosophies.
