New Around Here
Hi Folks!

I am looking for a router, which I am going to use as an access point for getting better coverage of my 5 ghz wireless network.

I need to select the right product with the following parameters:
1. gigabit ports
2. 5 ghz wireless signal
3. Good troughput and good coverage
4. dd-wrt capable

and I do not need dual band because 2,4 ghz wireless is nod needed.

please shoot me with some models with these options!

thank you in advance

Re-purposed as an AP, you don't have to have gigabit LAN ports unless there are PC to PC transfers within the ports of the AP and not on the WiFi link.

I'd take a pass on DD-WRT. Any WiFi router can be re-purposed as an AP.
A low cost 5.8GHz only WiFi router to re-purpose probably costs more than a non-simultaneous dual band, even with 2.4GHz disabled.

Also try the router rankings & reviews on the main site.

And keep in mind 5ghz inherently attenuates much quicker than 2.4ghz, it's the physics of RF. There are a lot of great 802.11n & AC routers that can have very fast throughput, but depending on the distances between the device in question & your AP, and your overall physical environment - 2.4ghz might very well be the "higher performance" band, it's completely situation dependent. I have a few clients on each band at my house, if your place is small enough and all your clients support it, banking on using 5ghz throughout might in fact work.
