Is there an official location where I can download this? I've found copies on sites like softpedia, but I'm always skeptical of 3rd parties. Is there anything official from ASUS or merlin, or is something like the following safe? Thanks.

I understand the use of the old firmware. I too want to experiment with it and see if it improves stability with my older devices.

No, my point is that it may not be the firmware you think it is... it may have been modified by anyone.

You cant browse to the location, but by guessing the name of the zip file I found it.

Guess I should have also mentioned that I had the firmware from Asus on a backup drive and compared date & md5 with the file at the link which matched.
