Quick and hopefully simple answer

Two days on starting to spend a bit of time on the Asus Gui and err.. there isn't much to it, i know it was meant to be an easy setup but this is too limited.

My question is where the hell is the detailed WAN connection information? i had this on a £30 TPLINK router it showed connection type (come to think of it EVERY router ive used does!) download and upload speed and then lots of other junk which would be useful for fault finding (my connection is occasionally unstable)

Failing that, what is the best custom firmware for this that still retains an easy to use approach but with more indepth config and information, one of the reason i didn't get the top end TPLINK (cheaper) even though it arguably looks better :o is that the TPLINK is written somewhat in 'chinglish' and is exceptionally indepth with bizarre non documented QOS settings (full DSCP values) same goes for many other aspects of its setup.

im tempted to get the TPLINK as i read it can take custom wrt firmware.
