The release notes will say the minimum version you need before upgrading.

The latest stable release is 384.14_0. 384.15 is in alpha state and not meant for regular users.

For completeness, tell us which router you hove and if it’s new, and which firmware you are currently running. (Also helpful to know is if you are familiar with the procedures of flashing and resetting to factory default status.)

No, because very few releases actually get a second point release. I think in the past year, out of 6 major releases only two received point releases.
