New Around Here
Hi,I've just installed multiple ports around the house and now want to install a new switch or router and switch.

The main features I'm after is being able to remote into the network and use wake on lan function to wake any of the computers on the system. I think one of the Draytek routers has the Wake-on-Lan feature. Also maybe in the future be able to access IP security cameras around the house.

I'm happy to go for a new router and a simple switch. I have a rack for the switch mounted in the garage and patch panel brining cables from around the house. Also need wireless for the ever extending wireless devices.

Will I need any seperate security "box" on the internet coming into the house?

I know this probably crosses a few of the forums but let me know your thoughts.

Cheers
Ant

Maybe you could look into DrayTek Vigor2920's wake on lan.
Its wake on lan may not only wake the LAN field through IP setting but also control the Mac Address of LANs. IP-Mac binding keeps un-related LAN's interference to your network.;)
