Who is using "Sync server" feature ?

I'm trying to setup a router (RT-AC68u & 4Tb disk) to router (RT-56u & 4Tb disk) sync process using the Smart Sync server to server feature.

I would like to know if many persons use this option, and also know how it is going with it.

So nobody is using the Router to Router feature...

That explains why :
1- It doesn't seem to work
2- Asus doesn't care

I tried to setup Sync server on 2 asus routers (1 Server and 1 Client), but its not working.

If you are using it as part of your backup process, you may be be in trouble because it could no longer works without telling you...

Goodsync is free and works well if backups are your goal.

I wish this feature would work on the Asus RT-AC68U. I bought 25 of those routers for a project hoping to use this feature.

Called Asus and as usual they were not helpful at explaining why they falsely advertise the feature.

Very frustrating.

It used to half work a few firmwares builds ago, i use it to sync 2 samba shares, but once the router rebooted all the settings were gone.

Recent builds ,just trow an blank error dialog box at the setup stage, i have given up for the moment.

I'm almost sure it should work, but it wasn't for me, and I was unable to understand what was going wrong (no trace in the logs). After the fact, when setting up another solution using Rsync (https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-me...c-through-a-SSH-tunnel-between-2-Asus-routers), I found out some traces let by the ASUS processes. I can deduct that they use a PPTP tunnel with some proprietary codes, but that's about it. So test it, and please keep us informed of what you will find out.
