New Around Here
Hello, I need help with my wi-fi coverage

I have a multifloor home and my main router (Asus RT-AC88U) is in the center of the house, I have 1gbps internet plan.

In my living room I only get around 100mbps, outside I get like 10 mbps in bathroom (floor 0) I get around 100mbps in 5Ghz channel. 2.4 channel is not in use.

In the upper floor I have a range extender in access point mode that is a TP Link RE450.

I recently started searching for access points or mesh systems and I endend up getting 2 result - ASUS XD4 and XP4

I have wires around the house that I can connect access points or mesh systems.

That being said my favourite scenario is, router in living room supporting living room + kitchen; XP4 wired in alley supporting bathrooms, garage and a small room; XP4 wired replacing previous RE450 supporting all of the bedrooms

Floor 0: TV in Living Room (A) connection isn't stable neither in Bathroom (D) nor Small Room (E)
Floor 1: Room F and H connection not stable
Floor -1: Garage (J) no connection at all

That is way I wanted to use my favourite scenario is, router in living room (A); XP4 wired in alley (C); XP4 wired replacing previous RE450 supporting all of the bedrooms

How big is your home in SqFt? Sorry, I find your drawings confusing.

With a 1Gbps ISP, the RT-AC88U is long past its due day in your environment.

To fix the issues you're indicating, an upgrade of the base network is warranted.

Even with multiple wired APs in your home, a single RT-AX86U or better, a GT-AX6000 (about 20% faster throughput than the RT-AX86U and I'm guessing around twice as fast as your current RT-AC88U) is what I would be trying next. And I would be testing without any APs connected in the home either.

If you need more coverage, use the RT-AC88U as an AiMesh node (wired) for the best results. In WiFi, less is more. And the more APs you have running in a small space, the worse your network experience will be.

Thank you for your response!

The house is aproximatelly 1900 SqFt

The thing that in floor 0 between the kitchen/alley/living room we have a lot of glass, for example, a cabinet which the doors are glass, the wood doors have little glass panels, etc

If we buy the RT-AX86U the RT-AC88U will be going to other house, possibily a cousin

I wanted to replace the TP-Link Re450 with an Asus repeater because of the roaming assistance

And again I searched for the mesh kit ASUS XP4

- Room B -63 dBm, 74 Mbps
- Room C -52dBm, 57 Mbps (Internet unstable)
