New Around Here
Hi Wifi Pros,

I'd love to get your help to improve my wifi network.

Problem: Twice per day the internet drops off. It's definitely a Wifi issue as hard-wired devices don't have that problem.
Computers also start to freeze/lag occasionally.

Situation: Double Storey house, work from home with just 2 main computers.
2 wifi access points are setup with the same wifi network name.
I think sometimes PCs connect to the wrong data point. I already tried to play with RSSI Threshold settings with no success so far.

Wifi/Hardware settings can be seen here:

  • Access points have 5Ghz Radio: ON
  • Wifi Network has 5Ghz Radio: OFF (because my smart lights etc can't handle 5 Ghz).
I am just now realising having EAPs broadcast on 5Ghz while no Wifi network uses 5Ghz is probably bad?

Gear:
  • Controller - omada oc200
  • Firewall - omada er605 v2
  • Switch - TP-Link TL-SG2008P
  • Access Points (3x) - EAP610 V2 (EU version)
