Wired only routers need love too

I'm very much interested in wired routers; I don't care about wireless.
I've been using SNB to the best of my abilities/understanding in order to find the best affordable (less than $400) wired router, preferrably rack mountable or wall mountable (or both).
During this task, I came across a D-Link DSR-250N, DSR-500N and DSR-1000AC. According to SNB, DSR-xxxN routers are "not recommended". I really wish for a wired-only test of these, because they seem like good candidates to satisfy my (and possibly other people's) needs.

In other words: If a router is wireless, it would be nice that it is not only tested as a wireless router, since it is a wired router with "WiFi as extra features".

I'm mentioning this because when I tried comparing wired routers, I got very few results. I *know* there are many people interested in wired performance and I've seen all over the net people requesting performance for 'wired only', but this information is very hard to find. SNB seem to be the best source, but still I wish that the most recent D-Link and TP-Link routers would be (tested as wired and) listed too.

I'm not sure where you are seeing the "not recommended" for those products. It may have been when using the site Search feature.

At any rate, we don't have a blanket recommendation for those products since we have not tested them. Any recommendation you saw would have been based on their Wi-Fi features.

We also test routers for wired performance TCP/IP throughput tests. Revision 9 test method benchmarks are:

Revision 8 test method benchmarks are:

You can view router rankings by wired router performance only:

Its hard to recommend dlink until they sort out their hardware and firmware reliability, in the past even their dumb switches would require a reboot. If you really want some performance rackmountable routers for $400 i would suggest pfsense or mikrotik CCR1009 as they have really good performance. Some CCRs have dual hot swap PSUs and with a rackmount x86 chassis the same can be had as well.

After the spectacular failure of dlink giving away its keys they started to pay more attention to security such as keeping their firmware libraries updated but i dont know how well they do with everything else.

It would be a love towards an antique. The entire world stopped using wired router and everyone is using Wifi router in everywhere. I think I can't find a single place in the whole city where there's no service of wifi can be found. So, if you really like and love wired routers and it's okay, but don't hate the newer technology.
