Wireguard on AC86U

Is it possible to incorporate the Wireguard vpn into the AC86U and other firmwares? The protocol works quiet well on the AX88u

I ran wireguard for a while on my AC86U with no issues (until entware did an update, which messed up all the custom files). I have since moved my wireguard server to a dedicated Ubuntu machine.

wireguard session manger in addon section....been using it for 5 months on 86u no issues...my speeds are ~2.5 times faster than openvpn

I've seen this. I was hoping if the part of the code for Wireguard that works on the AX Routers will be ported by merlin on the AC86U's. Not sure how complex that would be. I had tried using the session manager and was unsuccessful. I guess I'll have to give it another go at some point. I also have the AX88U router but I prefer the AC86U over the AX88U.

I can't find the post right now, but ASUS is including wiregaurd as part the RC3 release. If so, it will eventually make it to Merlin as well.

It looks like (MartneauUK) has added the RT-AC86U to his Wireguard script, his stable (VERSION="v4.11") was posted earlier today.

Actually Wireguard RT-AC86U support was included in the initial beta release of wireguard_manager back in March 2021.
Today's release simply installs the new RT-AC86U modules recently compiled/provided by @ZebMcKayhan.

Wireguard works really well on the AC86U and there are many people running this setup. so whatever problems you had I'm sure we can help you work it out.
