using 3.0.0.5.354... my wireless speeds are good, but when i copy files from my wireless laptop to the usb drive (ntfs 750gb) connected to the router the speeds are super slow (average 400kbytes/sec.)..... if i reboot my laptop, i getter better speeds (around 10megabytes/s) but after a while, the speeds drop back down to 400kbytes/s.

any suggestions?

thx

Sorry I can't help. I just wanted to chime in and say I experienced something similar to you today. I was just copying files from one folder of the ext USB drive connected to the router to another folder and was experiencing 400kb/s as well. I ended up removing the hard drive and plugging it into my laptop which moved files instantly.

I'm currently trying to do a copy from my laptop to the networked hard drive and I'm getting avg 3.5 mb/s. My WiFi speed is rated at 150 Mbps. Stock firmware version 3.0.0.4.260. Just got the router yesterday though :o

Hi,

A few posts suggests that the wireless driver for RT-N66U in this version is not working well.
I recommend to go to RMerlins Version 270.26 from memory.
Seems to provide best performance.
Make sure you do factory reset and re-apply settings manually... not restore.

Cheers
