Do any of the Asus routers support WPA3 yet?
Does this really require a new physical chip or can it just be a software upgrade?

No...

Looking upstream in Linux and Hostsp, along with WiFi Supplicant, might be at some point...

It's going to be a software change, and for the most part, it'll be a slow shift over due to legacy clients.

I asked ASUS, NETGEAR and Linksys a few months ago for a statement regarding their plans to support WPA3. Linksys and NETGEAR responded. ASUS did not.
