WPS reset vs restore/initialize

If I do the WPS reset (holding down WPS while powering on), is that more like the in-menu restore or initialize option?

I've got an AC68 that's acting very slow; half the internet speed I used to get and just loading up the router's config pages is slower than it used to be. I'm just looking for a thorough reset before look into something else. Currently running 384.8_2, first notice this updating to 7_2 last month, not sure if that's exactly when it started though.

If the AC68 reacts the same way as my RT-AC3100 when "holding down WPS while powering on" then yes NVRAM settings are reset. It's a complete wipe. I have to hold mine down for approx 10 seconds and when the light starts to rapidly blink I let go of the WPS button and my router completely resets. Maybe you should try scheduling a daily router reboot. I do this once a day at around 3:00 am when no one is using WiFi. Seems to me that for whatever reason there seems to be some sort of webui stability issue that arises every so often for some unknown apparent reason. Even the FBI recommends a router reboot 8)
