That test setup looks expensive, how could you afford it?

    Some things don't make sense.

Great! Thanks all! I fully understand MIMO now! Now i need to learn more about QAM. I don't know what QAM my R7800 has, and what QAM the R7000 :)

    Some things don't make sense.

    Oh I get Then 4x4 = 1733 mbit (R7800) I follow the analogy but what are AC3100 routers? 5x5 doesn't exist? Like the TP-LINK C3150 and ASUS AC3100 (AC88U) are 2167 mbit. How can they be 4x4 and 2167 mbit :)

    Some things don't make sense.

Tack my friend :) I guess that R7000 can do 3x3 then. That's really nice.

    Nighthawk R7000P or R7800

pete, you are absolutly right about the limited settings possibilities in the netgear routers. I was totally spoiled by custom rom padavan for my asus 56u :) This is still totally fine.

    Some things don't make sense.

I think the main problem here is that i don't really understand the technology When you say 2x2 and 3x3 i immediately think MIMO. But the R7000 doesn't support MIMO? What am i not understanding here? Please enlighten me :) Edit: Maybe it does support MIMO? 3x3 MIMO to be exact which explains...

    Some things don't make sense.

The speeds =| 700 mbit wireless? Thats crazy. And if i check the tests in this site, they show around 250 mbit wireless...

    Some things don't make sense.

I have a few things that don't make sense. My brother gets about 500 mbit uplink and downlink running speedtest.net and also the official speed test service we have in our country with his Samsung S8. He gets 700 mbit downlink and uplink with his MacBook pro. All wireless running a R7000. How...

    Nighthawk R7000P or R7800

Gentlemen I ended up getting the R7800 as it was priced really good. It was even cheaper than C3150 and half the price of AC88U! I appreciate everybodys support and recommendations.

Cut through forwarding (CTF). What's the catch enabling it?

As i understand it, CTF is some kind of an accelerator to increase the NAT speed. My question is, an accelerator doesn't come without a catch :) You simply can't boost the speed without a catch. What's the catch? I do know QoS and port forwarding might not work well, but what if they did work...

    Nighthawk R7000P or R7800

pete Isn't the fastest wireless adapter to date the ASUS PCE-AC68? That is AC1900? 1300 Mbps https://www.asus.com/se/Networking/PCEAC68/specifications/ And the R7800 can do 1733 mbps? So there is not wireless adapter that can match the r7800 performance and definitely not the AC88U. Trying...

    Nighthawk R7000P or R7800

Thanks guys I'm still looking. They have today made a very good deal on the R7800 which is now half price of AC88U. The ASUS AC3100 is from today also being listed in stores but is one of the most expensive routers and i guess the price will be adjusted very soon :)

    Nighthawk R7000P or R7800

Yes you are absolutely right about the ac3200, thats wrong. It's AC3100 and we don't have that where i live. Thanks bud. I will continue my quest. The AC88U is 100 USD more than R7800 where i live.
