    RT-AC66U_B1 changing 5GHz MAC address?

So, my landlord replaced the previous "new" router (ZyXEL Armor Z1), which had a MAC filter, and also a bug where the MAC filter did not work on 5GHz networks. So to get around I bought this AC66U_B1 and set it up as a repeater. It worked fine. But now he replaced it with an AC51U (cheapass...

Share internet to Asus router from an iPhone

In theory you should be able to use the built-in Wireless Hotspot function of the iPhone, then set the router to Repeater mode.

In need of recommendation - quite specific

I did, but unfortunately many features of DSM are not found in any form on free software. E.g. DSM brings easy two-click port forwarding via UPnP, something that so far has only been achieved either automatically per-app, or via often broken software. It also automatically refreshes the UPnP...

In need of recommendation - quite specific

Hey guys! I'm planning on replacing my old HP EliteBook 8530W that has been acting as a NAS for some time. It has 2x1TB 2.5" disks that I'd like to re-use. I do not use my NAS for very heavy-load stuff, say, Android ROM building. It mostly idles, runs Sonarr, Transmission, and a Plex Media...

    RT-AC68U CPU spec

Looks like my point went right over your head. Let me explain it then: manufacturers often have major changes in the router (especially the AC66U_B1 (not HW revision!), since it's virtually identical to the AC68U rev. C0, unlike the "regular" AC66U), sometimes so huge that it could even be a...

    RT-AC68U CPU spec

Proof: Bought a router marketed as RT-AC66U (not the B1 model, that was a separate listing, separate SKU). Turned out they were out of the regular model, so the warehouse guy just grabbed a B1 and sold it as a regular model. I didn't notice this until I got home and unpacked it. Had to delete...

Adding Entware to stock ASUSWRT firmware?

So I suppose it could be modified to run the Merlin script files from jffs, since we have that storage, right?

Adding Entware to stock ASUSWRT firmware?

So, I've been having problems with ASUSWRT-Merlin, namely I can't get it to let DHCP through in Repeater mode. As I can only use the router in this specific mode, and I need DHCP, I'm stuck with stock (latest 380.7266). Router model is RT-AC66U_B1. I've installed Entware using the "easy script"...

    Problem with Repeater Mode

Okay it seems like I've made some progress... After restoring stock firmware by erasing NVRAM both before and after flashing, I was able to set up repeater mode with DHCP passthrough (or forwarder, I'm not sure how Asus solved it). So with stock firmware it works fine. After that, installing...

    Problem with Repeater Mode

But the most interesting thing is that a day ago DHCP passthrough worked without an issue, with the very same configuration. And I don't think that your firmware leaves any remaining bits around when a stock firmware is flashed and NVRAM is erased.

    Problem with Repeater Mode

The upstream router (host router) is configured as a simple wireless AP, 192.168.10.0/24, with it being assigned the address 192.168.10.10. Unfortunately I do not have access to the config panel of the router, so I can't say much more. The thing is, it did work before, and the same settings...

    Problem with Repeater Mode

So, the situation is quite sticky. My landlord replaced the main router with a ZyXEL Armor Z1, and set up (drum roll please) MAC filtering. Luckily for some reason, on the 5GHz network, every device can bypass the filter. shirtty soft filtering from ZyXEL... So I purchased an RT-AC66U B1 to...
