[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I agree... And like to add that if you have something you'd like to off-load or separate, banana pi's are cheap.

    New Home Network

I say go with cat 7/6a if its in your budget. 10G is around the corner and other >1Gbs speeds are creeping up like 2.5 and 5. 10 is too much at this time and tech is still too expensive. But 2.5 & 5 will be sweet spots in the home as media continues to move into 4k among other things. Make sure...

Are you using any unusual subnets? I've see mismatched subnets (on other devices) do this where a 128 is on the PC, but a 255 is used elsewhere.

Is there at least one good router out there?

Netgear xavb5201 is one. Tpl-410ap is another.

There are a few power line AP's getting pretty decent speeds these days...

    Advice needed - AC68U

I'm using an older ac66u in a home & networking lab environment. 5 wireless (3 over an ex6200 bridge) and 15 hardwired, on average I pass a few TB of data through the router a month. As a whole, the Asus router product line is fairly mature and rock solid.

    RT-N66 Antenna Orientation

Let's also not forget the construction of the house. I've seen metal roofs do some bats**t crazy things with WiFi signals. Same can go for metal studs. Care to elaborate more on the environment of the set up?

Would you use a QNAP NAS in this environment?

To the OP... If this is for a lab, go at it. If this is production, even in a small office I cringe at the idea.

    Repost: rt-ac66u jumbo frames size?

Thanks. I'll have to go back and recheck everything. My iSCSI box is running a Marvell 700 MHz processor, so raid 5 across 4 drives + TCP/FCS does drag on the processor. I see around a 10 MByte/s difference on my initiator box over a 1Gbit connection. For IPv6, I can additional benefit...

Whats going on with the forums ??

I recently created a new acct and was having issue because Tapatalk was trying to log in using the acct info that was lost. But I was able to fix that by recreating my acct. Android.

    Belkin and Linksys

So does that mean the jokes about belkin being the best router on the planet may one day become true?

    Repost: rt-ac66u jumbo frames size?

So I've been setting up XenServer for the entire weekend and trying to figure out why my iSCSI wasn't reading right when I bumped the MTU to 7K. So if I use my GS108T, the jumbo frames work without issue. The moment I pass traffic through the Asus router, it fails (Packet needs to be fragmented...
