Anyone know if Belkin has absorbed Linksys' engineering and production? Or left it alone as a subsidiary?

Neither. I can't speak for production, but engineering is a blended team and is actively developing new products.

Appears the Belkin decided that the Linksys brand in WiFi is much better than Belkin's brand. So often, the corporate ego of company A who buys Company B then kills B's brand is a mistake.

But too, Cisco bought Linksys and left it alone. I guess Cisco sold it because they can't get the 45% gross margins they are used to in the consumer space.

Linksys has fared better than most - and they've managed to keep the business together across the Cicso/Belkin changes...

As Tim has suggested, it seems that Belkin is leaving well enough alone, letting Linksys continue to build and support their brand, as well as perhaps taking on the Belkin WiFi product development.

So does that mean the jokes about belkin being the best router on the planet may one day become true?
