Client Mode with Subnet and DHCP?

This would be such a great feature to have. It would absolutely eliminate all the BS, does not work worth crap, problem with trying to get the ASUS working with cellular 3G/4G systems. Use a cellular hotspot instead of a cellular USB.

Client Mode with Subnet and DHCP?

OK, so I wasn't just being a blind idiot!!! I can look directly at things sometimes and not see them, much to my wife's frustration ;-)

Client Mode with Subnet and DHCP?

I may be missing it, but I am looking for the equivilant of "Client Mode" in DD-Wrt. This keeps the router as a router, with it's own subnet, and DHCP server, but uses the Wifi as a client to another Wifi Server. The Wifi effectively becomes the WAN connection. Does the ASUS-Wrt, and/or...

rerouting a single website to LAN

I am trying to get it so a specific website is redirect to a local connection. I have a company domain, which is hosted at go daddy. I have a support appliance which I connect into at support.mysite.com. This device has 2 network connections, and the second connection is on my lan, and it...

    Connect Wifi to WAN?

I have a Verizon hotspot. This is only for emergency. Comcast goes down, I want my Wifi on my Router to hook to the Wifi of the hotspot and become a client to it. Essentially using the Wifi as the WAN access of the router. That keeps my network up until my land link is restored.

    Connect Wifi to WAN?

I apologize if this has been answered in a thread somewhere already. I did a bunch of searches and came up snake eyes. My question is, can the Wifi be programmed to be attached to the WAN and connect to a Hotspot to provide internet access. I'd like to have a backup internet access, and of...

IPpv6 with Comcast Business Modems - Ugly

I wanted to write a short piece that may, hopefully save others a wasted day. I use Comcast business internet service, and I have Comcast's SMCD3G-CCR Modem. I use static IP's for my IPv4 implementation, so my choice is limited on what to use form Comcast. Bottom line, IPv6 DHCP-PD does not...

    USB Memory Stick Errors

Wow, creating an ext4 is sloooooooooooow compared to ext2. I'm using Minitool Partition Wizard Pro 9.0 to do it.

    USB Memory Stick Errors

Not at all, I'm in the process of reformatting as we speak. I found this about ext2 on a web site that reviewed the different types of Linux file systems "Lack of journaling can result in data loss in the event of a power failure or system crash" I also remember something somewhere on the...

    USB Memory Stick Errors

Both Ext2, it is an 8GB Memstick. I make a 2GB optware partition, and the rest I call store. I don't have any data on it yet, as I haven't yet loaded optware. I used ext2 based on the FAQ on Merlins page for adding optware.

    USB Memory Stick Errors

I'll look at that, but I'm not trying to safely remove the memory stick. It stays in the router all the time. But when I log into the router, I've always got a red circle around the USB 2.0 device, and I go check, and it says there are errors on the disk. I started setting the router to...

    USB Memory Stick Errors

I have been putting USB memory sticks on my ASUS RT-AC56U. Usually a SanDisk Cruzer, but it doesn't seem to matter. I partition it in two partitions, Optware, and Store as EXT2. Inevitably I end up with errors on them, usually referring to problems from shutdown. Is there any way to...

    USB Drive has mount errors

Hello, I have several Routers and put 8GB USB sticks in them to load Optware etc. I notice when I reboot the router that many time I end up with an error saying one or more folders did not dismount cleanly and it won't mount properly. Any suggestions on how to make sure my USB stick stays...
