Hi Merlin,
I do not know if this is a purely technical aspect, but certainly a matter of aesthetic and also surely of the "image".
I found very useful, user friendly the new "Wireless Log" display really well done. Very good!

Wireless Log

So, I kindly ask you:

1) Question number 1.
When will we see a remake, a harmonization with the same (good) style, the other log interfaces? With charts, columns and rows?
Namely with a more immediate interface, more rational, more harmonious ... in short, an interface less nerdy and more graphical user friendly?

General Log

DHCP leases

Active Connections

...they are graphically very ugly, not harmonics. :)

2) Question number 2.
When will be powered the "client status" with more icons .. and even with a better graphics?
I do not believe it cost so much to put some more icons.

Client profile

For example, an icon for smart air conditioners wifi, thermostats, microwave oven, washing machine wifi, smartphones ... in short, a number of wifi categories, devices and appliances that are now commonly found in a home network and it will be more and more.

There is someone (a pious soul) who wants to spend some time to make the GUI more harmonic and user friendly? :)

Thank You for attention

Developing the new wireless list required a lot of code changes. I have no short term plans to go through that for any other page for now. The wireless page needed it more urgently as that page was almost unusable with the RT-AC3200's three radios, and ajax updating was needed to monitor the band steering as it occurred.

I agree more icons would be great, something like chromecast and smart tv.

Won't happen from me. I'm not an artist, and I am also still debating what to do with the network map as it currently exist. Those icons force the list to be too tall, meaning you have to navigate through multiple pages on most setups, so they might eventually have to go to make the list more compact.

Asus worked on implementing user-uploaded icons but they didn't enable that functionality yet, probably because it's either buggy or unfinished.

Hi,

At some earlier firmware version, I spent time clicking each client profile to pair to their physical/functional appearance... printer, console, pc, tablets, media. I stopped doing that recently when discovered somehow profile survived firmware upgrade (when trying to change icon, there is error stating profile exists or something similar).

I manage dhcp list manually using script. So while it is useful to see quick glance of devices in network map with proper icon, I think both functionality dhcp (always there) and client profile (maybe since 1 year) are not fully integrate yet.

wholeheartedly agree with Merlin on code changes required. Web development paradigm is messy everywhere (javascript, ajax, ...) combine with implicit browser engine behavior and we spend much time debugging on what we saved on implement.
