TP-Link EAP225v3 AC1350 Wireless MU-MIMO Gigabit Ceiling Mount Access Point Reviewed

Not to necro a month old thread. I inherited a Edgerouter ER-4 from a buddy and I am finally taking the plunge into using dedicated access points with the router over my current AC-68u all in one router solution. My question is: Can the Asus AC-68u work just as well as the TP-Link...

rt-n66u settings for plex server (pms)

I did. It says "Disconnect the server failed" when I click the manual port forwarding..... Do my settings look right with a port mapped to 26403? Does that need to be entered into the local port of my router port forward table?

rt-n66u settings for plex server (pms)

However, when I go to myplex webpage the address is: I'm dumber than a bag of hammers with ports and just want this to work outside my local network.

rt-n66u settings for plex server (pms)

Does this look right? My plex server is mapped to and it will NOT let me manually configure it to 32400.

rt-n66u settings for plex server (pms)

I was on 46 I believe. To be honest I do not remember. I usually update around once a month. I always reset to factory defaults after flashing. I gather from your post that the default settings should be fine? Or that the router is not the problem here?

RT-N66U + New FREENAS Server = Recommended Settings

Long time lover of Merlin's work, but seldom post. Will be installing a new beefy FreeNas server this weekend using a very cheaply acquired TS140 server from Lenovo (i3+c226+ Intec NIC+ 16gb ECC Ram). Aside from enabling jumbo frames, is there any other settings that you recommend I engage...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.45 is out

Downloaded and installed. Like the new interface. Noticed no change on the wifi but is still incredible. ALMOST willing to install the printer into the USB port again. ALMOST. I still have nightmares from last time.....

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.372.30_2

I'm getting constant USB HDD (.ext3 format) dropouts with this new firmware whenever i stream something via DLNA. Reformatting has not resolved this? Anybody else having issues? Nothing wireless related...everything is LAN connected.

Tomato by Shibby [RELEASE] 110 out now

Can you check if it has gigabit ethernet speeds? That was what was preventing me from installing it before. Want to see if it resolves the Sony Mkv DLNA issue. Apparently the miniDLNA 1.0.26 does, but I have yet to try it. This mini dlna issue is what prevents me from updating my Asus...

    Service Life?

Google did a HUGE study of hard drive failures in their farms over time. It turns out there was very little correlation between operating temperature and fail rate. (corrected for obvious outliers such as drives catching fire due to faulty bearings, etc.) The biggest indicator of fail rate...

    Changing wireless power setting

Here is a thread on the subject by super router programmer Toastman: http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.php?threads/tomato-signal-strength-low-any-ideas.33868/ In brief, the US country regulation is a boolean variable that cancels out any and all modifications of the transmit power you make...

Compiling your own firmware - Possible for a non-computer science professional??

Thanks all. I'll guess have to just bribe either Merlin or TeHashX with paypal donations or sexual favors to include this sony dlna fix on future firmware releases.

Compiling your own firmware - Possible for a non-computer science professional??

Thank you TeHashex. I am still not comfortable enough in a linux OS to make patches myself just yet. For instance, your guide command: git clone https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.git Leaves me unsure as to which firmware version source I am downloading to edit. 266.22 beta1...

    Why I love this router.

Hear! Hear! This thing is awesome. Its like a super fast router with a pretty fast / stable NAS to boot. Just love being able to whimsically watch .mkv files on my TV with ALL my computers off. :o

I just transfered well over 100 GB files wirelessly on the 5GHz band without issue. Although no single file was anywhere near 8gb. Using 262.24 build.

Compiling your own firmware - Possible for a non-computer science professional??

Hello All, I've been having lots of trouble with my Sony BDP-s790 streaming mkv files from my rt-n66u samba server: After bothering a whole bunch of people, I have received this link to a patch you can make to the minidlna to allow it to work...
