Continuous issues with Wireguard VPN on Asus RT-AX86U

I find that I have to from time to time get new configs for VPN to work for all clients that use Wireguard VPN. Wondering if others have similar issues? I've updated to the latest official firmware but still experience the same issue. Also wondering if Merlin's firmware would work any differently?

Having trouble with WireGuard VPN mon ac86u

That it would be wireguard? What I've set up via the asus vpn page?

Having trouble with WireGuard VPN mon ac86u

Didn't mean to add this here but don't see an option to delete But ultimately it's not a restart issue - I need to create a new tunnel for it to work

Having trouble with WireGuard VPN mon ac86u

Since I’ve bought this router, I’ve had to restart it 4 times to get the vpn to work again. Wondering if this is typical and would be any better using Merlin firmware? I tried the official stable and beta releases with no differences

Not clear why custom ddns not working (duck dns)...

I followed the steps here... https://www.htpcguides.com/use-afraid-custom-dynamic-dns-asus-routers/ Script exists in.. /jffs/scripts/ddns-start The script I used... https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/DDNS-Sample-Scripts#duck-dns Where I used my domain label in "subdomain" and...

So a bad router (ac87u)? Speeds (not Wifi) fluctuate a bit throughout the day...

Sorry to clarify... 1) Asus router connected to Fios ONT and PC connected to Asus router - speeds vary throughout the day and can get noticeably slow. When I do speed checks online (different testers) Ive seen my speed go down to half or worse (1/100 of what I'm supposed to get). This usually...

So a bad router (ac87u)? Speeds (not Wifi) fluctuate a bit throughout the day...

I got Verizon's router to isolate the issue. So far, speeds have been pretty consistent. On the Asus RT-AC87U my speeds vary quite a bit throughout the day. I pay for 100/100 - regardless of online test, I've seen speeds drop down to as low as 1/1 with noticeable difference when trying to...

in traffic monitor, does "transmission" also include LAN transfers (assuming so)

I'm just finding it odd that transmission is as high today when I haven't done much in my network. I'm trying to solve some issues I'm having with Fios and was about to switch out my router for a Fios router and thought to check the asus admin page first

ASUS RT-AC87U - thinking of going custom - Traffic Analyzer..

Yeah, I know. That's why I wanted to know if say using Merlin will disable this depending on the feature. There is no reason to communicate anything to Trend Micro if all I want to know is per device how much downloading / uploading has occurred.

ASUS RT-AC87U - thinking of going custom - Traffic Analyzer..

Thanks! I was hoping for something more like I can just see on the router admin pages. I guess ultimately what I wanted to know is if Merlin's firmware blocks data being sent to Trend Micro. All I want is to be able to tell how much bandwidth I used which shouldn't require data collection. I...

ASUS RT-AC87U - thinking of going custom - Traffic Analyzer..

I would like to use something like this but I forget every time I go and enable that I get a privacy prompt to agree to and don't. Wondering if Merlin uses something else or disables any data collection. I just want to keep track of daily / monthly bandwidth being used.

    Can the rt-n66u handle 330mbps?

Hah full disclosure - I had 75/75 with Fios for almost 4 years now I think. I was annoyed I couldn't get a cheaper price or at least a bump in speed for free. I kept seeing promotions for gigabit internet from RCN for about the same price I was paying for Fios so I figured why not. I'm not...

    Can the rt-n66u handle 330mbps?

Ok thank you. Yeah, I've never used QoS Yeah, I figured I would need to upgrade if I did keep the gigabit but downgrading to 330mbs as gigabit seems overkill.

    Can the rt-n66u handle 330mbps?

I'm switching to another ISP and wondering if I need to / should upgrade my router. I'm currently signed up for gigabit which I know the router is struggling on (getting ~600mbps) so thinking it should be fine but not sure if I'm stressing the router to the point where it makes sense to...

I'd like to use the WAN port as WAN while in access point - is this supported?

Ok fair enough. Thank you. I'll just run the cable when I'm ready to try it out

I'd like to use the WAN port as WAN while in access point - is this supported?

I've attached what I want for a network. Hope that clarifies. It could be that I need to just run the cable but making sure before I have to

I'd like to use the WAN port as WAN while in access point - is this supported?

I don't want the Asus router to act as a router but I don't want the WAN cable to go the server with pfsense. Is it clear? I need the cable from my modem to go somewhere - at the moment that is the Asus router. I have the server connected to this router via a switch. I want to keep this...

I'd like to use the WAN port as WAN while in access point - is this supported?

If I go by your signature, I'm trying to do pretty much that. I have a server that I'd like to set up with a VM of pfsense which will be my router. What I don't want to do is run the cable from my modem to that server so that it has the WAN port. I'd like to keep the cabling setup I have now...

I'd like to use the WAN port as WAN while in access point - is this supported?

I'm trying to avoid having to run longer cable to get to another device to use its WAN. Wondering if Merlin's firmware supports using the WAN port while access point is enabled.
