    Broken power button

Me, me, me too! My RT-AC66U's power button has just broken! It doesn't stick anymore!

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.64_2 is now available

I remember doing that allowed busybox to be built. I suppose some things didn't work in my firmware, because I didn't fix other things mentioned in this list. However, I noticed no suspicious behavior in the firmware basic operations. ^_^ Porting lighttpd or vsftpd was much more difficult, for...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.64_2 is now available

About busybox and Asuswrt: As I remember porting busybox to Asuswrt was very (surprisingly!) easy. Actually, no real "porting" was required. I just download the latest source tarball busybox.tar.bz2 (I used the latest dev version), unpack it and that's it - it was ready to be compiled. Actually...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.61 is now available

Should I reset the router settings to the factory ones after updating from 380.59, or it's fine not to do so?

    Transmission...for Asuswrt/Merlin

kvik Great! Your Transmission integration into The router GUI is much better than mine! I didn't implement the file download progress bars.

Yet another ugly clone of Asuswrt-Merlin firmware (extremely outdated now)

Just Checking Sure, you can try it. However, keep in mind that standard “warranty disclaimer” that tells you that it’s up to you to decide “to flash or not to flash”. If my firmware kills your router, I’ll be like Homer Simpson: “It was like that when I got here”. And, once again, this...

Yet another ugly clone of Asuswrt-Merlin firmware (extremely outdated now)

Hi there! First of all, English is not my mother tongue, so sorry for my terrible English. Many years ago :) (Feb 24, 2013) I asked RMerlin why he wasn’t using the latest openssl and some other libs in his Asuswrt-Merlin firmware. He told he didn’t see any practical reasons to update them...

Local DNS Server + WebGUI? When?

On my poor little yet courageous RT-AC66U. It's gone through so many reflashings... Obviously it requires file '/usr/etc/unbound/unbound.conf' which obviously is UNBOUND's config file :) However, its content is totally out of my humble competence. I think so since they both use the same UDP...

    Dropbear and scp

The current Dropbear release, which is 2013.60 (10/16/2013), is fine. At least it doesn't drop connection when I use scp :) I suspect that something goes wrong in the latest code submit which was 32 hours ago. I hope Mr. Matt Johnston will stumble across this bug and fix it. :)

    Dropbear and scp

The problem was solved. The bug is in the current dropbear snapshot which is 2013.60+. The 2013.60 (as well as 2013.59) release doesn't suffer from this bug.

    Dropbear and scp

It seems that dropbear 2013.59 crashes when a client sends a file with scp. It may receive the first file but for the second and further files it says "Connection refused". RMerlin, can you check it? Or maybe it's just my own bug... :(

Local DNS Server + WebGUI? When?

UNBOUND can be launched but needs proper configuration.

ASUS Merlin based 3.0.0.4.374.979 When ?

RMerlin :D :D And I couldn't resist making a couple of changes to the dict files - ASUS managed to invent phrases which are even more ridiculous than mine!

Local DNS Server + WebGUI? When?

Ilyuha, mromero noticed DNSMASQ for reason - it can serve as a local DNS server ;)

ASUS Merlin based 3.0.0.4.374.979 When ?

RMerlin   OFFTOPIC: How do you do that? When I try to be in sync with a current ASUS firmware, it usually takes several days or even more to make the merge. Luckily, the 979 has much less altered files than usual :)

    [RT-AC66U] Looking for information

As DanielCoffey said, you should consider to wait a little and then buy AC68U.

Can not change FW after 3.0.0.4.374.32

Maybe after upgrading to the latest firmware you should upgrade your current firmware once more to check if it can upgrade itself on your router this time. The problem, however, is to detect if the upgrade has been actually done when you use the same firmware.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 is out

bill1228, it's about one of kernel modules, not the whole firmware. For the whole firmware blame Broadcom and Asus :-)
