    80 MHz channel width Question (3 AP's)

Really? Channel overlap won’t cause issues?

    80 MHz channel width Question (3 AP's)

I have 3 AP's (Unifi NanoHD) in my house. Currently each are set to 40 MHz channels (Channels 36, 149, 161) Would I run into issues if I set the APs to 80 MHz? There would be some overlap in 5G channels (Don't plan on using DFS). Or would I be better sticking to 40 MHz in my household? Thanks

Speed Expectations for an AC5300 Router w/Gigabit Fiber?

Reason you use 40mhz width on 2.4ghz? Heard that is very bad practice.

    Question on 5ghz channels

Have 2 nanoHD's in my house. Currently using 36 and 149 for the 5GHZ channels. Switched from VHT80 to VHT40 recently also due to better stability with VHT40

    Question on 5ghz channels

All things being equal (no interference on any of the channels), if I have 2 Access Points (Unifi) I know that both should be on a different 5ghz channel. My question is, should 1 be on the Channels 36, 40, 44, and 48 range and 1 be on the 149, 153, 157, 161, and 165 range? Or does it not...

    Edgerouter 12 vs Mikrotik RB4011

Overall been a Ubquiti customer since June 2018, and overall happy with their products, so I would suggest them. Good Luck.

IOT devices / How do the SNB members set them up at home?

Currently have a Ubquiti network at home (2 APS, Switch, and Edgerouter). I have 2 SSID's setup, 1 main one (5/2.4ghz) and one that I made for IOT devices. I am just wondering if this is overkill in a home environment or not. I am trying to get a firewall ruleset together for the IOT network...

    5ghz channel widths

In general should a “home user” use 40,80, or 160? I’ve heard 40 because anything higher decreases wireless stability. Also heard choose the highest you can for max speed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ubiquiti Users -- questions for you

I have an Edgerouter X (running 1.10.5), 2 APS, and a Unifi Switch 24. My questions are these. 1) How do I go about assigning my DHCP range of all devices on my network to 192.168.99.100 - 192.168.99.254 ? Is this done on the router or my switch? 2) How do I go about changing my...

How do I get rid of this static up from my switch? I’ve rebooted switch, edgerouter x, verified that the switch / confit / network is set to DHCP. Still shows static (and adoption failed because of it) Help https://i.imgur.com/KRC1H0P.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Netgear R7800 - Firmware Version 1.0.2.52

Quality Control at Netgear is beyond poor if this issue is still present, and people have been reporting/complaining about it for over 7 months now......

    R7800 and HT160 Setting

Your best bet is just to leave the default setting on the router if this is uncharted territory for you. Change the Wireless channels to manual and select one, rest of the setting default...

    R7800 and HT160 Setting

Unless you have a device that uses this (which it seems 1% of users actually do), then keep it disabled.

Suggestions for running Cat5e/Cat6 to rooms in a new house

Thanks Thanks. I’ll look at my budget then and make the best decision. The installer said So price per line cat5 $40 regular Cat6 $70 and Cat6A $80. Going to have about 20 runs.

Suggestions for running Cat5e/Cat6 to rooms in a new house

Maybe I’ll do cat 6a to where the AP’s are, and rest of house in 5e.

Suggestions for running Cat5e/Cat6 to rooms in a new house

My installer said cat 6 is about 30 more a line and there's about 20 lines so about 600 more to run cat6 over cat 5e. For that price is cat 6 still worth it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Ubiquiti Users

Great post. I don't think I have anything 2x2 right now (your basic Apple products phone, ipad, imac, appletv), all my gaming consoles will be hard wired, along with the iMac, and maybe a few, but not all apple tvs).
