    RT-AC66R / AC66U Dropping 2.4GHz Band

I've been battling this issue for a few years now, with both an RT-AC66U and now an RT-AC3100. I can only believe it's due to the way Asus poorly designs for heat dissipation. If I keep it cool it seems to work well. Any time the top of the router starts to feel moderately warm, it starts...

What does the second core do?

Just upgraded from an AC66U to an AC3100 and this is my first experience with a dual core router. I have gigabit fiber so I can put a pretty heavy load on the router just from routing. When pegging the bandwidth by downloading something on a client computer I've noticed only the first core (Core...

Help with new Asus router selection

Thanks! It's strange that the AC3100 is newer than the AC3200. I'd expect the number to go up... My goal is to find out if the 68U or 3200 are powerful enough to handle VLAN tagging at gigabit speeds, or if I need to shell out for the current gen.

Help with new Asus router selection

It's time to upgrade my RT-AC66U. I recently upgraded to 1000/1000 gigabit internet and the AC66U can't handle the wan-to-lan speed. This is because the ISP requires VLAN tagging on the wan port over IPoE (DHCP, not PPPoE), and even with HW Accleration enabled and CTF enabled the router chokes...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

Yep, I was upgrading from one of the older 3.0.0.X releases and I definitely reset it to factory defaults after flashing. I guess if I was having issues on a 3.0.0.X release and still have issues on the latest firmware, I'm not sure reverting to 378.56_2 will solve it since it's in the middle...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

RT-AC66U here. My 5ghz wifi just died again. The first time this happened I just upgraded and it fixed itself, but I'm on the latest firmware now and it happened again. Any tips?

    HW acceleration on RT-N66U

It was because IPv6 (native) was enabled. I posted in the beta build thread.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.354.27 Beta 1

Also gets disabled with Native ipv6

    HW acceleration on RT-N66U

I have none of the above enabled yet it still says HW Acceleration Disabled (incompatible feature enabled). Is there anything else to check? I have a 100/20 cable connection and am noticing high packet loss. Not sure if it's the router (AC66U) or just my connection. Running the new...
