Asus RT-N56u not working with comcast IPV6, caused by OOMA?

My mom only has a 3 Mbps connection with good latency. Based on OOMA spec, this is good enough for VOIP except that I needed to adjust the bandwidth setting on the OOMA to reserve some bandwidth for voice or it sounds like it's underwater if she's using the internet at the same time. 3 Mbp may...

Asus RT-N56u not working with comcast IPV6, caused by OOMA?

Thanks everyone. I will have sister reconfigure the OOMA to run off the router. I will probably need to figure out how to setup QOS on the router and OOMA. Generally, I think I like the router -> OOMA configuration any way, but I couldn't get QOS to work with the previous router. In the past, I...

Asus RT-N56u not working with comcast IPV6, caused by OOMA?

I upgraded my mom's Asus router from her old Cisco after the Cisco router showed up on a list of routers with security issues and also to get IPV6. She is using Comcast, and I believe IPV6 has been rolled out in all or at least most locations. To my surprise, I couldn't get IPV6 to work. After...

    RT-AC68p has no disc

Thanks, the reason I asked is that sometimes the software on the disc cannot be found on the website. My Epson Artisan printer for example has a OCR software on disk that isn't downloadable from Epson. My wife's Bamboo tablet comes with Adobe Element, that isn't downloadable from the vendor. Paul

I had the password changed, but shouldn't the refurbished unit had a factory reset of some sort. What if the previous...

I recently purchased a refurbished ASUS RT-AC68p from New Egg. The unit appears not to have a installation disc. Question: Is this important or can I just download everything from Asus website. Paul

Switching to IPV6 was a lot easier than I thought

Since I was switching to a different ISP, I decided to take the plunge and go IPV6 native. My reason are two-folds. I am upgrading my mom's Cisco E3000 router to another one for security reasons. I wanted to know what I am getting into before I try to fix hers over the phone. My new ISP is...

    ASUS RT-AC56U and ipv6 compatibility

Thanks, I am unfamiliar with ASUS routers. My current router is a WRT610N, which is said to be IPV6 compatible, but when I tried to use it natively, I realized that it only support tunneling, so I wanted to make sure that this wasn't the case with RT-AC56u. Paul

    ASUS RT-AC56U and ipv6 compatibility

Recent news article about running out of ipv4 prompted me to look into upgrading my mom's router. She has one of those old Cisco router that only support ipv4 and has a number of security vulnerabilities. I was thinking of replacing it with ASUS RT-AC56U. Any idea what mode of ipv6 does it...

Ooma Telo box Qos doesn't seem to work

I finally got my mom's OOMA to work I had set my mom up with a OOMA through Comcast economy internet, the service provided about 3 Mps download with roughly 0.9 mps upload. The router was setup to be between the cable modem and the router. This is what OOMA recommended. I ran a speedtest and...
