    Diversion Diversion 5.1.3 - the Router Ad-Blocker, May 09, 2024

    Since Diversion is running on dnsmasq now - would it be possible to use it to enforce safe search (e.g. something like this), specifically for one of the blocking lists? I'd like to enforce safe search on the main list, but not on the alternative one. How to do that so it'd not get overwritten...

    Diversion Diversion 5.1.3 - the Router Ad-Blocker, May 09, 2024

    Firstly - thanks a million for this amazing work! I'm eager to update my setup tomorrow. Does the new version allow enforcing redirection e.g. safe search and restricted Youtube for specific devices in the network (read: forcing YT to show kids-safe content on their devices)?

    Diversion Diversion 4.3.3 - the Router Ad-Blocker, released April 02 2023

    Thanks! I gave it a try and indeed it does work. A few thoughts/questions/feature ideas, though: Alternate blocking lists allow to set two 'groups' of lists. What if I'd need more (e.g. separate kids, parents, IoT devices, guests, etc)? How to actually set the "Global Redirection" option in...

    Diversion Diversion 4.3.3 - the Router Ad-Blocker, released April 02 2023

    Hello here. I'm a long time Melin user (on my old RT-N66U) but a newbie to Diversion (on recent update to RT-AX86U). Firstly, huge thanks @thelonelycoder for your hard work! Secondly - a lame question to which I couldn't find a sample anwser in the manual nor in the forum (though I'm sure...

    VLAN on WiFi+Ethernet for security cameras

    True, I just used it to simulate one. At least to separate the cameras from the home intranet. Yes, that's the case. All the cameras are wireless but NAS is wired-only. Thanks for the hint, I'll take a look at YazFi. Though if I got you right, this opens the possibility to connect from the...

    VLAN on WiFi+Ethernet for security cameras

    Hi. I'm running good old RT-N66U (currently on 374.43_45ECj9527 LTS Merlin fork, surely need to upgrade to the recent one) and I wanted to set up a VLAN for home security cameras which is completely separated from the main home network (or ideally allow one-way connections, from the main home...

    Critical Realtek vulnerabilities and 374 LTS

    Ah, great, thanks! I was fooled with this "RT-Nxx" info in the news I read.

    Critical Realtek vulnerabilities and 374 LTS

    Hi, Realtek has recently announced critical vulnerabilities affecting RT-Nxx models: CVE-2021-35392, Wi-Fi Simple Config stack buffer overflow (UPnP) CVE-2021-35393, Wi-Fi Simple Config heap buffer overflow (SSDP) CVE-2021-35394, MP Daemon diagnostic tool command injection CVE-2021-35395...

    [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

    Hi. First things first - huge thanks for keeping this alive! My good old RT-N66U was running 374.43_44EAj9527 for quite a while but recently I noticed it drops packages over WiFi between the router and the clients from time to time, at least on 5GHz (I wasn't monitoring 2.4GHz closely as my main...

    Asymmetric WLAN<->LAN connection

    You're welcome. In case that doesn't help in your case you may also try the following: disable Bluetooth on the adapter, if it's there options iwlwifi bt_coex_active=0 switch to software encryption of the traffic options iwlwifi swcrypto=1 disable 802.11n completely (but that will limit your...

    Asymmetric WLAN<->LAN connection

    Thanks for your hints, you were perfectly right. The problem was on linux client which simply interferenced itself while sending... All I needed to do is enable transmission antenna aggregation in /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf: options iwlwifi 11n_disable=8 Now after a quick checks I...

    Asymmetric WLAN<->LAN connection

    Thanks for your reply! It could be the case, I'll try to investigate it more in the evening. IIRC from iwconfig, I had power saving disabled and maximum TX power. Link quality was 67/70 - 69/70, so pretty much perfect. System is the fresh Debian wheezy 64bit (actually, it's OpenMediaVault...

    Asymmetric WLAN<->LAN connection

    Hello, I'm fighting for the whole day with a strange phenomena in my network, and I'm out of ideas what may be wrong. I'm testing 5GHz connection between one WLAN server and one client connected to LAN (1Gbps). I have decent speeds one way but almost 10x slower the other way...

    start up script ?

    Exactly, but: That depends on the script and as far as I understand yours, wget is fetching some data from www.unotelly.com and stores it somewhere (current working directory?) - if you redirect this to external drive, you won't write anything to the router.
  15. R

    start up script ?

    This is the case only if you or your script writes something there. If you slightly change your script e.g. in a way that wget stores the output to some external attached to USB port - it's not an issue any more.

    Slow speeds in internal wlan

    Indeed, but does this high number of collisions cause low low link rate as well? Why InSSIDer shows 216Mbps (instead 300 or even 450Mbps) and iwconfig only 65Mbps? BTW, I've noticed interesting behaviour of RT-N66U when I set manually channel to 2 but I left channel bandwidth to 20/40MHz -...

    Slow speeds in internal wlan

    Ok, so I scanned all 13 channels setting every one of them manually with 20Mhz bandwidth, N net only. Indeed, I can see significant differences, and channels 1, 6 and 11 are actually the slowest ones (~20Mpbs throughput measured with iperf from wlan to wired server connected directly to the...

    Slow speeds in internal wlan

    I've done even more tests. First, I reset the router to factory settings (from the GUI and then once again with reset button, just to be sure) and set up WLAN on completely new SSIDs so none of my devices could directly connect to it (so, I made sure none of the legacy devices are connected)...

    Slow speeds in internal wlan

    I couldn't understand why I kept getting better throughput on speedtest.net then to wired LAN, so I made another test, this time with iperf server running on Linux connected with Ethernet to the AP. I set both bands to N only to make sure none of legacy devices can slow down the network and...
