    Samba Resharing Function

A shot in the dark: I have an older NAS that supports only SMB v1. Modern devices (iPads, Mac OS) seem to not support it and only support SMB v2. Is there a function where the router connects to a NAS via SMB v1 and exposes it to the network as a SMB V2?

    New Asus Router Upgrade Recommendation

Merlin, I ordered the ac66u b1 and was looking at differencea between the 68u . 68u has mesh support where it's not listed for the ac66u_b1. Is that a firmware difference that is resolved with flashing your firmware or is there an actual electrical/mechanic difference? Thanks, Zhenya

    New Asus Router Upgrade Recommendation

Folks, I have an n66 and it's been lovely with Merlin. Lately I've had many issues like Google Assistant search not going through, streaming dropping etc so I figured maybe this is a good time for a new router. What are folks running now that's stable and fairly modern? Obviously Merlin...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.62_1 is now available

Flashed this over _58 on N66. No reboot and seems to be working perfect. I did not expect my stupidity to pay-off so well.

Is someone trying to hack into my wifi??

I have thought about this quite a bit. I have the tools necessary to see if my network is being attacked but the knowledge to expose it. It would be fantastic is we have a tab in the network tools that helped expose suspicious connections. This would help novices learns how to spot these kind...

    .56 development?

Merlin, Is this delay standard for the n66? I am starting to get nervous that they are slowly dropping support for the old workhorse.

    DNS question (Custom lookups)

Hey guys, I've build some internal things in my house that I would love to be accessible simple to a layman. So for example I have a server presenting http @ 192.168.x.xx/foo I would love for any computer on the LAN to be able to point to in $custom_text/ in a browser and have that point to...

    Wireless Webcam for Merlin

Hi All, I am expecting a baby in the coming month . My wife and I would love to have the ability to monitor the baby from a different room. Most of my colleagues and friends love the dropcam/nestcam but I am absolutely opposed to having a 24hr video and audio feed of my house to someone...

    OpenVPN DNS leaking

Martin, Thank you for your response! I do in fact have the server running on my router and the client on my phone. The connection works as I can load the router management page when connected to VPN while on the cellular network with my phone. However, when I am connected to the VPN on my phone...

    OpenVPN DNS leaking

I might have missed something - so this thread is a bit eye opening. Hopefully this is not a threadjack. I have OpenVPN client running on my router. I have an OpenVPN running on my phone. When I connect to the VPN from them my phone and look at ipleak - it shows the IP belonging to my cellular...

USB HDD Spontaneously started unmounting itself

All, I've had my N66 with .50 Merlin running for a while without an issue for a while now. Since the update I have had almost zero issue with the attached USB HDD (wall-powered). In the last two days, the drive has been unmouting itself - here is the log that could possibly be showing the issue...

Core consistently @ 100% and [Core load in SSH does match System Status]

All, I am now on the newest release .50 . Same problem continues. I have a 1.5tb drive attached through USB. I have noticed that if I unplug it my cpu demand drastically falls. Is there something I can do to optimize my drive ot help the router mount it without all this incredible cpu load...

Core consistently @ 100% and [Core load in SSH does match System Status]

Guys, thanks for the replies. I reset the router and redid all the settings - I'm still pegged @ 100%. Is it possible that the 1.5 TB drive is somehow really taxing the router? I'm concerned that 1) I will have a hardware failure if I continue to run this router @100% 2) that I am not...
