    No New Products?

Are there no new Powerline products on the horizon? This http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/other/ces/ces-2017/33055-trendnet-launches-av2-1200-powerline-wireless-access-point-combo is the first powerline product I've seen on SNB in ages, and the only new part is the wireless. The #1 product on...

Mix old AV2 with new AV2?

I own four (two sets of two) Linksys PLEK500. Since I got them, powerline adapters have gotten faster. I'm considering one set of Netgear PPLP1200-100PAS. Here's the question: will mixing ~500 Mbps adapters with ~1200 Mbps adapters limit the speed between the two ~1200 Mbps adapters? Will...

Powerline adapter that doesn't block top outlet?

I own four LinkSys powerline adapters. They leave room for a plug in the top outlet, but they touch and there's pressure so I don't like it. I have the adapters connected to the outlet via 12 inch extension cords. This seems to have zero impact on performance.

    PC Wakes From Sleep

I noticed two or three months ago that my desktop Windows PC wakes from sleep without any apparent input. I think it's waking because of network activity, but this is not my area of expertise. I also own several Wemo AC switches. Today I believe I heard the computer wake up and the Wemo...

AC1900 Now or Wait and See on AC3200?

I purchased the RT-AC68P. Several SNB articles say wait on AC3200, get an AC1900 router now, and the forums echo that sentiment. I went with the RT-AC68P rather than the U or R version. The USB improvement/shielding was was the main factor.

New Router Adding Noise, Slowing HomePlug?

I upgraded my D-Link DIR-655 to an Asus RT-AC68P. I have Xfinity TV and Internet. Right now we've got ~125 Mbs down and ~25 Mbs up. I live in a three story house. On the middle floor in the living room, I have a TV (with an X1 cable box), the SB6141 modem, and the router. In the...

TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750; Good for my needs?

I saw the article on The Wire Cutter calling the Archer C7 "The Best Wi-fi Router (for Most People)" and I bought it. I was never particularly impressed. My Nest thermostats (2.4 GHz only) constantly lost connection. My wife and I both have iPhones, and about once per evening each phone would...

AC1900 Now or Wait and See on AC3200?

Small Net Builder posted a review of the RT-AC68P, saying of it: "V2 revision of Broadcom-based AC1900 router with a faster processor and improved storage throughput."

AC1900 Now or Wait and See on AC3200?

I'm assuming you set both networks with the same SSID/password? Like a poor man's Smart Connect? And no issues? The only devices in my home that will be moving around on a regular basis are two iPhones.

AC1900 Now or Wait and See on AC3200?

Currently I'm using a DIR-655. I can't complain about it -- my two Nest thermostats never lose connection to it. But I added a Wemo outlet switch (and motion detector) and I've noticed a couple instances of weirdness: I've come home twice to one or both Wemo devices disconnected and needing to...
