    I have been succesull in mapping the drive with the 8gig USB stick, but not the 500 gig Sony HDD. So the issue is the HDD, could it be a power issue? this 500 gig Sony HDD does not have its own power (I mean its only getting power over USB) Should I try another format type?

    So I tried using a 8g thumb drive (NTFS) instead, and it has worked with no problems whats so ever. Ummm? Tried to chuck in the 500 gig Sony HDD and no luck

    Ran CHKDSK on the drive after another clean TNFS format, no errors. Tried to add the drive again via manage computer. Getting the following error in windows event viewer "DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer GMEDIA using any of the configured protocols." Log from ASUS Jun 27...
