    Cisco 819 and Cisco 2702i vs top prosumer (R7000, WRT1900AC, RT68P)

Well the assumption at the small business level is the end user will be the one setting it up and not an engineer. Still having a CLI is something I have always preferred 9 times out of 10. For a small business though, mostly your are looking at only a couple VLANs if that and simple...

    Cisco 819 and Cisco 2702i vs top prosumer (R7000, WRT1900AC, RT68P)

Maintenance is not required, but Cisco is leveraged to medium to large business types. Cisco does have a small business line up now, but I have not a lot of experience with it. Usually the lowest level I deploy at is 2960's in the switch world and 28/29/38/39 level routers. Most of the...

Anyone compare the RT-AC68P to the R7000, which did you keep?

I have been up and running on the two AP2702's now for a week and very happy. Signals of low to mid -30's in my office and -35-45 in my master bedroom at the opposite side of the house. I am using my Arris TG862G-CT which I will eventually replace as I don't like my ISP having access to my...

    Cisco 819 and Cisco 2702i vs top prosumer (R7000, WRT1900AC, RT68P)

Thanks, I have a 2702i and 2702e on my desk now and getting 867 for my ac adapter and 270-300 for my n adapters throughout my house now. Just need to find a router now. The screwed up thing is someone Intel ProSet won't show up in Windows 8.1 anymore since my reboot last night. I have no...

Anyone compare the RT-AC68P to the R7000, which did you keep?

Thanks, I now have a Cisco 2702i and Cisco 2702e on my desk and have them configured...I just need to find a router and I am good to go. I am getting 867 connect speeds on my ac adapter and 270-300 for the other n adapters in all of the house now :). The problem I have now is Intel ProSet...

    Asus RT-AC66U vs Netgear R7000

Will do, I have a lead on a older Cisco 819 (pure wired) and a Cisco 2702i AP...I may be going this route since I am a Cisco Engineer and can configure these no problem....I am still curious what the best performance will be. Obviously for online storage I'd need to add either a real NAS or a...

    Cisco 819 and Cisco 2702i vs top prosumer (R7000, WRT1900AC, RT68P)

Any do any tests between a commercial/enterprise setup and the others in a home environment? I am a Network Engineer and have access to a AP2702 and an older 819 ISR router. I can configure both no problem (it's obviously more work than a GUI, but I already had a Wireless 819 here that died...

    Great feedback. Thanks.

    Asus RT-AC66U vs Netgear R7000

Did you test the R7000 and 68U against it? The price delta at that level is not so significant, but I just can't shell out $650 for something I can get by with for under $300 or even $200. I can play with IOS in my company lab if needed :)

    Asus RT-AC66U vs Netgear R7000

I do intend to run third party software, I am familiar with DD-WRT and the others that ran on my old Linksys WRT54G version 2, Speedboost modified with v4.71.1, Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c firmware :) I am a bit of a hacker being online since 1983 so playing with hardware is fun as long as I am...

Anyone compare the RT-AC68P to the R7000, which did you keep?

I am seeing conflicting reviews on the 68P vs the R7000 and was looking for your opinions if you have tested them. My Cisco C819HWD-A-K9 ISR Router somehow had it's WAN interface fried or it simply died. It's a enterprise-class device that was giving me 105+Mbps over wireless on my 105Mbps...

    Asus RT-AC66U vs Netgear R7000

How does the question change if the R7000 is compared to the RT-AC68P with the 1GHz processors? I have a Cisco C819HWD-A-K9 ISR (more of a enterprise/business device than a home unit), but lightning must have zapped my WAN port and it's kaput so I am looking for a replacement device and...
